Alberto Bernabé

Economist from the University of La Laguna, he studied the junior year in the United States and has a senior management program from the Bravo Murillo Institute.

He has extensive experience of 25 years in the tourism sector and to a large extent in the public sector.

He began his professional career in the hotel association Ashotel, as responsible for the training and employment programs.

Subsequently, he was entrusted with creating what would be the Development Society of the co-capital of the Canary Islands, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, managing it for 4 years.

In 2004 he was appointed manager of the public company of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Turismo de Tenerife, a job he carried out for 8 years.

In 2011 he had his first political experience, becoming Deputy Mayor of the City Council of the island’s capital, with responsibility for the area of ​​finance, heritage and technologies.

Already in 2015, he became Vice President and Councilor for Tourism and Foreign Action of the Cabildo de Tenerife. Until June 2019, he therefore holds full powers in Tenerife Tourism, as President and all functions inherent to the sector, as well as CEO of Teleférico del Teide.

In January 2020 he returns to the private sector.

Currently, he is a Tourism Advisor and PwC Senior Advisor in Spain, working closely with a high variety of private companies and public institutions, mainly in the tourism and transport industry.
