
Alicia is a Tourism Expert and Strategist with two decades of experience in the Tourism and Travel sector. She leverages her expertise to foster sustainable tourism policies, projects, and public strategies on an international scale, with significant experience working with European destinations.
As a Sustainable Tourism Specialist at The Travel Foundation, Alicia conducts comprehensive destination research, designs strategic roadmaps, and leads capacity-building workshops on topics such as climate action planning and destination stewardship. She has delivered impactful projects including partnerships with major players like easyJet holidays and Iberostar, and climate action planning for European organisations such as NECSTouR and the European Travel Commission.
Prior to joining The Travel Foundation, she worked as an Advisor for the Regional Ministry of Tourism in Andalusia. She also founded and chaired the nonprofit association Turismo Reset, where she actively championed change and social innovation towards a regenerative approach to tourism. She also serves as an Independent Tourism Advisor with a focus on strategic planning in sustainable and regenerative development.
Alicia has a background in Tourism, and MA in Marketing Management, and has furthered her education in Regenerative Development for Tourism. She is adept at incorporating the principles of regeneration into tourism management, applying this vision to the projects she designs and delivers.
