Manuel Ferreira has been managing programmes at the TUI Care Foundation for 4 years, which included coordinating external communication for the COVID-19 Relief Programme for Tourism and Tourism Recovery Programmes supported by the German government. These two projects were the recipients of 4 WTM Responsible Tourism Awards. His portfolio now includes over 30 of the TUI Care Foundation’s projects promoting sustainable tourism and covering education for young people, protection of the environment and the empowerment of local communities. Previously, he was a part of the Swedish and Malaysian national boards of an international not-for-profit and worked for the European Commission, supporting grant and procurement management for the communication of the COSME programme.
